At Ballard Power Works, we believe taking care of your lawn should be effortless. I’m Jon Ballard, a long-time entrepreneur, lifelong tinkerer, and a guy who has always hated mowing lawns. My journey into robotic mowers started unexpectedly when a landscaping company came to bid on mowing our lake house. Instead of sending a crew, they proposed using robotic mowers. I was instantly hooked.

That simple conversation at the lake house started my journey into the world of robotic mowers. From that point on, I dove headfirst into learning everything I could about how they work, what makes one brand better than another, and what features truly matter for real homeowners. I studied different designs, followed industry news, and tested models in all kinds of conditions. What started as curiosity quickly became a passion and a mission to find the best robotic mower available and make it accessible to people who want a perfect lawn without the hassle.

Over time, we tested all the major brands. Some were decent, some were frustrating, but one truly stood out. The Segway Navimow was the easiest to use, delivered the best cut quality, and was the most reliable. Best of all, it did not require burying wires in the yard.

We were so impressed that we decided to become a dealer and bring these mowers directly to customers. Originally, I was looking to buy a large number for our vacation rental management business. But after meeting the talented people behind Navimow, many of whom came from Husqvarna, I decided to invest in two dealership territories: Hayward, Wisconsin and Janesville, Wisconsin.

A True Family Business

This is a true family business. My son Todd, a certified ATV and UTV mechanic, handles maintenance and repairs. My son JJ, a tech wizard and avid remote-control vehicle enthusiast, is in charge of installations. My wife and I run the store, manage shipping, and keep things moving behind the scenes. Together, we make sure every customer gets a mower they will love and the support to keep it running for years.

We are a small, locally-owned business with dealership rights for service and installation within 50 miles of Janesville and 50 miles of Hayward. Our team is trained to install, maintain, and service Navimow systems so you can enjoy a perfectly cut lawn without lifting a finger.

If you are outside our service area, no problem. We can ship mowers anywhere in the United States from our own inventory. When you buy from us, you are not just getting a box in the mail. You are getting the backing of a dealer who knows the product inside and out and stands behind every sale.
